Confirmation & First Communion

Confirmation

Confirmation is the service where adults and teenagers actively affirm their belief in the Christian faith and dedicate themselves to following the faith throughout their lives. Confirmation is carried out by the bishop and is usually a very special and moving service for all involved, as people realise how much they have grown in their own faith. If you are an adult and have not received holy communion regularly before, it is often the service after which people choose to receive at the Eucharist.

If you think you would like to be confirmed, please contact Fr James for a chat.

First Communions

We offer the opportunity to receive communion to those aged seven and upwards. Each year we run a First Communion Class for Year 3. This takes place over four Sunday mornings and is open to any child aged seven and upwards, whether they attend Wanstead Church School or not.

If you would like to receive communion but are older, you are very welcome to do so though you may wish to explore confirmation.
