“Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
Our parish supports a wide range of groups and charities both financially and practically. The World Church Committee promotes and supports this expression of our Christian belief in helping others. We meet every couple of months to identify and organise fundraising for local, national and international initiatives.
Who we’ve helped and how
With a focus on humanitarian causes, we aim to raise funds that make a positive difference to the lives of those in need. That may be collecting provisions for Redbridge Food Bank at every Sunday service. Making regular donations to Christian Aid. Or coordinating ad hoc responses to emergencies and crises.
A few examples
We collect toys, clothing and furniture for the Refugee and Migrant Forum of East London on an ongoing basis. We have worked closely with the Gulu School for the Blind in Uganda: our fundraising has financed a wall protecting the school compound, the refurbishment of dormitories, and the provision of beds, bedding and Braille machines. We are also contributing towards the cost of a church in the Diocese of Marsabit in Kenya.
